Week of December 12 ot 16
Math
We will also spend some time on Christmas stories and activities, and practice singing Silent Night in Chinese.

Show & Tell Project
The students that gave their presentations on Friday, did a good job. I would like to thank the parents for the time they put in to help their child with the project. I hope this helps the children speak Chinese more in public. This Friday will continue the "About Me" project. Friday, December 16, we will be having 6 more students present their "About Me" project. Please help your child prepare at home. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Week of December 5 to 9
Math
We will be reviewing the last 2 weeks of math lessons for their assessment test this week. We need to identify and represent the relationships among numbers, quantities, and place value in whole numbers up to 1000.
Chinese
We will continue working on Lesson 9. Please take time to review the lesson 9 vocabulary flash cards we sent home last Monday with your children. These vocabulary words are from lesson 9. They do not need to memorize how to write it, but need to know how to recognize the character so they can read it and know what it means. The pinyin and the English are on the documents I send home so the parents have an idea what the students are learning in class and can try to help them say the words.

We are working on it together in the class also. The reason we are having this project, is to get them to feel more comfortable speaking Chinese more, especially in front of other people.

We will go over whole numbers in groups of hundreds, tens, and ones using base ten models and write the numeral representing the set in standard and expanded form. We will also go over comparing and ordering numbers using the terms, greater than, less than, or equal to. We will review the symbols, >,<, and =.

I would like to thank all of the students that brought in their rocks today. We all had fun looking at the rocks that were brought in. If your child has not brought their rocks in yet, please have them bring them as soon as possible. We will work on the rocks for next couple weeks.

We will begin a unit on rocks on the week of October 17th. Your child needs to bring in a rock collection by October 17th. Please use an egg carton to put the roocks in. Please place one rock in each egg space. If possible try to find rocks that are different colors and textures. Thank you for supporting your student!
