Dear Parents,
Congratulations! Your child has completed the Chinese Immersion Program and Math Curriculum for the second grade. I would also like to thank everyone that volunteered throughout the school year, without your help many of the activities would not have gone smoothly. I would also like to thank all of the parents for the support they have given their children and the Chinese Immersion program here at Southland Elementary.
1.
Review the yellow picture dictionaries and practice
that vocabulary.
2.
Practice reading in the Green book your child
brought home from school.
3.
Have fun doing Chinese things like going to one of the Chinese stores
(Ocean Mart, Asian Gifts, etc.) or Chinese restaurants.
4.
For math, be certain your child is fluent in all of the basic addition
and subtraction facts. Periodically
review problems with regrouping (carrying and borrowing)
5.
Work with measuring using inch and centimeter rulers.
6.

Help you children go over their multiplication tables for next year.
